Program Overview

The Dairy Data Academy is an innovative educational program designed to prepare the next generation of dairy professionals for a rapidly evolving industry. Through a combination of hands-on experiences at the WKU Smart Holstein Lab and interactive classroom learning, participants explore how dairy science, technology, data, and innovation work together to shape modern dairy operations.

Whether participants come from an agricultural background or are simply interested in technology and problem-solving, the Dairy Data Academy provides a unique opportunity to learn how emerging tools and technologies are transforming the dairy industry and creating new career pathways.

About the Program

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be a current U.S. citizen no younger than 16 and no older than 21 years old, as of August 2, 2027.

High school juniors or seniors as of the Fall 2027 academic term.

Students currently enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year vocational school, college, or university, as of the Fall 2027 academic term.

Individuals who have completed a high school diploma or equivalent and are currently employed at a dairy farm.

pursuing or interested in:

  • Data science

  • Computer science

  • Engineering

  • Coding/programming

  • Other technology-related fields

No previous dairy experience or agricultural background is required!
