This internship supports the Holstein Foundation youth development team with carrying out the Dairy Bowl and Dairy Jeopardy contests at National Holstein Convention. You’ll contribute to planning, participant and volunteer communication, and contest management to ensure a fun and educational experience for all involved. You’ll also assist with general event tasks as needed throughout the convention.

In addition, the intern will support the inaugural Dairy Data Academy. The program’s goal is to inspire and prepare the next generation of dairy professionals by bridging hands-on dairy management with cutting-edge technologies and data analysis techniques. We aim to encourage curiosity, technical skills, and critical thinking while highlighting the diverse and innovative career pathways at the intersection of dairy science and data-driven decision-making.

• Develop, review, and assemble contest materials for Dairy Bowl and Dairy Jeopardy

• Assist with planning and coordination, including communicating with participants and volunteers

• Lead the Dairy Jeopardy contest presentation during convention

• Support defined project responsibilities for Dairy Data Academy, including planning, execution, and follow-up

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience ($16-18/hour), paid bi-weekly

• Furnished housing provided in the Brattleboro, Vermont area for the duration of the internship

• One round-trip travel reimbursement up to $500 for travel to and from Brattleboro

• Transportation, meals, and lodging costs associated with required travel will be covered

Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in dairy or animal science, agricultural business, communications, education, or a related field.

• Applicants must be able to relocate and work in the Brattleboro, Vermont office from mid-May to mid-August for a total of 12 weeks (40 hours/week). Housing will be provided, but the intern must provide their own vehicle for transportation while in Brattleboro.

• Applicants must be able to attend National Holstein Convention from June 29–July 2, 2027, in Dallas, TX.

• Due to schedule demands during the week of National Holstein Convention, applicants cannot be a 2027 Distinguished Junior Member semifinalist, Junior Advisory Committee member, or competing in Dairy Bowl or Dairy Jeopardy.

• Applicants must be able to attend Dairy Data Academy in early August.

• Intern will be expected to make a capstone presentation to management staff at the conclusion of the internship.
